Question Error msg: Couldn't find kernel image

Hi All,

I'm new to Linux and just trying to install redhat 8.0 on my computer. Situation is:

I was trying to create a dual boot system for Windows XP & Redhat 8.0. I started from scratch, a SCSI 18GB drive w/ Adaptec 29160N card. Installed Windows XP first, worked fine. Then followed instructions seen on the web to install redhat 8.0 with GRUB to MBR. Then it won't be able to boot Linux, only XP will automatically boot. If with linux created boot floppy, I just got an error message:
'Couldn't find kernel image: linux boot'.
Don't know what's going on. Shouldn't I expected to see some GRUB booting screen??????

My System:
I disconnect master IDE HD before installation. There is a slave IDE CD-RW connected.
2 SCSI drives w/ adaptec 29160N. I set it to boot from 18Gb one.
XP occupies around 6GB then Linux occupies around 6GB.

Please help. Thanks.

well i think you can get your answer with a little search
this forums has hundreds of similiar problems like yours
the problem it appears is that boot partition is not set properly
use your linux cd
go to rescue mode
and reinstall grub
