Error inserting CIFS: Cannot allocate memory

Hi all, I am trying to load a cifs module. I checked "lsmod" and cifs module is not loaded.
I tried:
"modprobe -a cifs"
WARNING: Error inserting cifs (/lib/modules/2.6.18-8.1.6.e15/kernel/fs/cifs/cifs.ko):
Cannot allocate memory
I also tried:
[root@10 ~]# cd /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/fs/cifs/
[root@10 cifs]# insmod cifs.ko
insmod: error inserting 'cifs.ko': -1 Cannot allocate memory
Thank you all for your help!
