Thank you colorpurple21859 and Habitual.
If I find the duplicate entries, which do I keep?
Thank you both.

Please paste the output from the following command so that we can see which repositories you're using:

Code:
inxi -r

On Mint, this only opens /etc/apt/sources.list for edit. It doesn't deal with the repositories in the /etc/apt/sources.list.d directory, which is more relevant for the OP's problem.

these are not errors, but warnings (that is the W at the beginning of those lines).
You can remove anyone of the duplicates, as you like.

Ok, according to your output, you need to:

. delete one of the two identical lines in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/additional-repositories.list.

. decide whether you are going to use the wine repo in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/additional-repositories.list or the one in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu-wine-ppa-xenial.list. Delete the repo you don't want. This wasn't related to the problem you experienced, but you may have problems if you keep both Wine repos. To help you with the decision, the latter repo is now deprecated (see https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-wine/+archive/ubuntu/ppa).

Note that repositories can be managed by running Software Sources from the Mint menu.
