Hi blackpacu! Welcome to LinuxQuestions!

Are you using xscreensaver as your screensaver in GUI mode? Try typing this in a terminal window:
xscreensaver-demo
Then, you should get a config window and in the 'Advanced' tab is what you're looking for (Power management).

Good luck!
Martin

The power management in X isn't really a factor of what window manager you're running, or desktop environment... It's enabled with X itself.

Try these commands out in an xterm :

Code:
xset +dpms
xset force dpms off
xset force dpms suspend
xset force dpms standby
Those are command line options which will force X into power saving on the fly.

If this is what you're looking for, you can simply add a few lines to your XF86Config-4... However I do not use SuSE and I have heard that YAST is prone to updating or overwriting configuration files if you change anything with it after you've added your own options by hand...

Here are some relevant lines in my XF86Config file.:

Code:
Section "ServerFlags"

    Option "dpms"
    Option "standby time" "20"
    Option "suspend time" "30"
    Option "off time" "60"

EndSection
Of course, you can substitute whatever time values you like for the different values I use.
