You will need to give more complete descriptions to get good answers here. I would always start with a full sentence which describes what you are trying to do, and what is happening. THEN post the relevant terminal output, etc.
The title of "urgent" is bad for 2 reasons:
1. It does not tell us anything
2. It is pushy---most of us do not respond well to being pushed....

dmesg will tell you which is assigned to eth0 and which to eth1. Or you can use trial and error.
Let's assume that eth1 is the wireless.....what happens if you do "iwconfig eth1 essid something", and then just "iwconfig" ?
How about "iwlist eth1 scan" ?
As for the GUI tool, exactly what is it doing?---ie what are the options and what happens when you try to connect?
