email system using linux server and ms exchange server

I office as firewall/router used FreeBSD. It also has qmail server running.
The second server is Windows 2003 server. It works as PDC and exchange server at the same time.
Email comes first to FreeBSD's qmail server and then goes to exchange server. Clients reads emails from Exchange server. All of this stuff implemented with someone else.
I would like to create the same combination with linux. As a linux distro I'm going try debian.
Is there any howto concerning this matter?
