Editing my .confs

I'm currently trying to edit my GRUB .conf, and I just got linux.. so I don't know how to go about and edit that .conf, as nothing is associated with it. It has that little red eye, which I guess means nothing is currently associated with it. Help would be nice.

Thanks :)

Open a text editor (abiword, gedit, etc) > browse to the config file > open the config file.

or

open a terminal and type pico /path/to/the/config_file

I can't pico from terminal. Is there a way to install this? or is there any other command like pico? i know there's cat, vi and....some more but they are not like pico. pico is the best i've ever used. more familiar...

If you like pico perhaps give Nano a try:

http://www.nano-editor.org/

basically a pico clone with a few more options.
