Edit Nautilus Popup menu

I would like to edit the Nautlius popup menu that comes up when you right-click on a file in Nautilus. Specifically, I would like to be able to run a script on a file by rich-clicking on it. I can do this by adding a new action to a given file type. How can I do this in Nautilus?

you could right-click, select 'open with' and at the bottom expand the window to type in the command you want to be used.

If I wanted to do that I would just use a terminal. The idea is to make it fast/easy to perform an action from Nautilus.
