ed command

Hi,
I just tried to install Acrobat Reader, and it goes fine up until apparently line 219 of the install script, where sh complains that "ed <parameters...>" is not a valid command...does anyone know what this is supposed to do, and what i can do to get Acrobat installed? I have to have some way to read .pdf files :-/
thanks much,
Laura
