Easy remote access tool
Hi there,
I'm helping colleagues and friends switching to FOSS by installing Linux distros.
I'm looking for an "easy" tool to use for remotely accessing their systems, so that when they are in need, I can hook up to their computers, see what they're doing, guide them, or do some admin work.
I had a look at VNC and Xrdp - both require that I know the IP address to be contacted. If possible, I'd like to avoid asking my pals to determine this by command line.
In the proprietary world, there's TeamViewer, where a UUID is shared. Is there something similar in the FOSS world?
If there isn't I will stick to VNC (and ask them to give me their IPs).
Thanks!
