DVD Writer...Need Help Figurin' How to Get it to Write

Hello Everyone...here I am again with yet another challenge. I installed a USB DVD Writer (I also have an internal DVD Writer on the same computer)
after my older external USB CD Writer hit the hay. At first, Linux would recognize the USB DVD but not work. In an earlier post, I was able to
mount the drive and get it to read CD's and DVD's. However, I can't
seem to write to it with either GnomeBaker or K3B, so I am still missing
something, probably some code that will allow the Writing portion. FC5
is coming back to me and asking me to choose a file system such as Ext3,
but K3B does not have anything in options or anywhere that allows me
to tell it what to format the DVD or CD filesystem with. I have a mount
point set up under /Media which seems to work. Does anyone know if I can
write a little code in the mount file which will automatically set the
Data CD or Data DVD to Ext3? I think this might solve the problem...
or if anyone knows what I should do to remedy this problem, please give
me some guidance.

Thanking you in advance - JimmyCFiverTwo
