DVD burn @ 4x with k3b not possible!

I use mandrake 10 and i have a dvd burner (lg gsa4082b) .In damn winxp i record ok. In linux whenever i insert any 4x dvd +-r(w) disk the maximum speed i can set k3b is to 2x , but when it burns my dvd's the speed varies a lot from 3,1x to 4,2x ! I don't think this is good!Should i upgrade from my k3b ver (0.11.7) to the newest one (0.11.11)??Any ideas why?

That's quite all right ... cdrecord (growisofs) are trying to
maintain a speed that the device can handle, just don't
worry about it.

So i wont have problems with recorded dvd's right? It sounded strange to me cause the dvd writer i have is 8x and i thought it was funny not to be able to burn dvd's in a stable 4x speed!I've jusy installed k3b 0.11.11 which took me ages to compile btw , but it works!
