Duplicate users accounts

Hello ,

Does anyone knows how to duplicate a user account ? With a script or a program.....

My goal is to create users based on a existent user, so i donīt have to onfigure the new users, that way i just have to change username and password.

Thanks in advanced....

What attributes do you want to duplicate? Most distros have a /etc/skel directory that forms the basis for a users home directory.

Hi,

My distro also have the etc/skel, but what i want itīs to duplicate a user that already exists. I do that my making a copy of his home directory to the one of the new user, because i need do duplicate the KDE configuration.

Imagine :

I have a user called zuser, i configure it(KDE,...). Then i want to make a copy of this user to create another 10 new users based on zuser. What i do is to create the user, i call it guest1, then i erase is home directory and copy the contents of zuser home to guest1, #cp -rpd /zuser/. /guest1.

Hor can i do it automatically for the 10 users (just give the username for each one).

Thanks, and i hope you understand my english :-)

Copy .kde .kderc and .qt from /home/zuser to /etc/skel - when you create a new user from that point on, their default KDE will be the same as that of zuser (unless zuser changes something *after* you've copied the files over!!)
