acid_kewpie Moderator Registered: Jun 2001 Location: UK Distribution: Gentoo, RHEL, Fedora, Centos Posts: 43,417 Rep:	i think that dd if=/dev/hda of=mbr.img bs=512 count=1 should be all you need, this will copy the first 512 bytes from the hard disk to the mbr.img file.
