Dule booting Ubuntu and mepis with a shared /home partition.

I have ubuntu installed on my desktop at home on a custom partition layout ith a seperate home partition.

Lasr night I purchased mepis 6.0 off the officail mspis store,
I was going to use my original primary Ide harddisk as the root partitoin for mepis. I st htere a way I can set mepis up to share the same home partiton as ubuntu, because I want to have my eamil clienr setting and opera/ fire fox book marks on both disreos?

Als does mepis have grub or lilo as the defaulr boot loader?

The ubuntu root partition and the home paertition are on t the primarray drive of the first sscussi chanel on my mother board.

the home partition resides at /dev/sda3.
Is there a feature in the mepis installer rhat would allow me topoint the home directoryfor my user account oan the mepis congihuration to /dev/sda3.

I don't know if there is a feature in the installer( there probably is), but if not you just need to edit /etc/fstab and create a mount point for home(/dev/sda3)

something like
/dev/sda3 /home ext3 nodev,nosuid 0 2
You may have some problems if you have different versions of software packages on each system, but I tried it out for a while and it seemed to be ok
