Dual boot: Win2k and Mandrake 8.1

I am a new user to Linux. I like using it, and want to learn about it, but don't want to give up Windows 2000 just yet, until I learn more about Linux

I have aquired a copy of Mandrake Linux 8.1 (I was told it is somewhat user friendly), and would like to dual boot my system with this and Win2k.

My system has two hard drives (30g and 20g). Win2k is on the 30g and the 20g is blank.

I just wanted to be able to leave Win2k alone, install Mandrake on the 20g, install a boot-loader, and have it default to Win2k.

Any help would be great!

This is really really simple to do. First just start the install from the Mandrake CD. Read everything carefully and choose a custom setup. This should allow you to create your own partitions. You should create two partitions. One for your swap space, and since you have so much HDD space I would suggest like 500mb for your swap file. Next you should create a root partition. This should be mounted as "/". If you want to use the entire drive then just check the box to use remaining amount of hdd space. For the boot manager there should be an option to check which is the default boot. You want to pick DOS or whatever the other option is besides linux. After that just decide what you want to install and let it go.
