doing an OS update while keeping existing raid and its contents

Hi folks, just a quick question that I hope you could answer.

I'm planning to update a certain machine from FC2 to FC4. That computer has a 4 HDD RAID 0 (SW Raid)
built in it. Is it possible to loose the raid and its contents if the system gets updated? Is there
a way to preserve the raid and its contents during an OS update? --> never tried this before, so
that's why I'm a bit reluctant to do it before hearing an expert opinion.

RAID is for storing files, the system is located on a different disk. Also, by updating the system I really mean wipe the system disk and install the new OS.

Thanks a lot in advance.

If it's software RAID, no, you will lose it and need to reconfigure it. If you had hardware RAID, that would be a different story.

linux, raid0, system, update
