Does this work on Linux?

Okay I can't get to my Linux boxes for a few days. I just wondered if this worked for Linux too. Open firefox. In address bar type about:config.

find network.http.pipelining.maxrequests ..... ...... 4

Change the 4 to 20

Now surf does it load faster? I know this works on XP. I would not suggest this for dial-up connects.

Yes, the 4 can be changed to 20 if you wish.

hello,

I've read about this config tweak.

Why is it antisocial ? Why is it not all right for dialup connection?

Does it mean you take up the whole bandwidth for yourself and therefore causing obstruction? And if you ahve a dialup connection, does it mean you're going to choke up your connection, so to speak?

Is pipelining itself without changing the number of requests advisable at all?

Most change it to 30. Yeah it will choke up your dial-up connect.
