Does Linux Suse version have a system restore?

I deleted some files today and would like to know if i can recover them.

If you made a backup, then you should have no problem restoring. If not, I hope you shutdown IMMEDIATELY and didn't do anything which would write to the HDD. There is a complicated procedure for recovering raw files after an inadvertent delete. You'll have to use Google to search for it; I don't have the link handy.

Otherwise, you're SOL.

another noob in linux~!

i have suse 9.3 complete installed and after a few months working on it and messing around, i learned alot already hhihi .... BUT, here it comes :

after i updated the linux system online trough yast (all packages availble ),then i rebooted the pc and it doesnt start to work , meaning... it doesnt start the KDE 3.4 . and i get a screen with a grey look and a prompt for user and passwrd . i can't login it gives me erros about the following :

{{{ i made thank god a backup of the system with the yast wizzard eheheh but i dont know how to restore it :( }}}

anyway as i was saying the error apears is the following error in the small yellow LOG box in the screen:

//-----------------------

console log for linux jul 25 01:32:10
jul 25 01:32:10 linux syslog-nh[3225]: changing permissions on special file /dev/tty10
jul 25 01:32:10 linux kernel: snd_cs4231_lib: unsupported module tainting kernel.
jul 25 01:32:20 linux kernel: snd_cs4236_lib: unsupported module tainting kernel.
jul 25 01:33:10 linux mDNSResponder: Duplicate registration of DNS for Domain.
jul 25 01:34:10 linux kernel: end_request: i/o error, dev fd0,sector 0
jul 25 01:35:10 linux kernel: end_request: i/o error, dev fd0,sector 0
jul 25 01:36:10 linux ifup: no configuration found for sit0

and so on and so on

if i could restore the system trough failsafe or just normal boot what works . then i could return the state of the machine to an earlier time b4 the updates...

i have the idea that the kernel is updated or whatever but i am 100% sure it comes trough the update i did.

anyway one some sugesstions?

I am interested in any replies to your question, too. I installed SuSE 9.3 and likewise am getting the gray log-in screen and the "linux mDNSResponder: Duplicate registration of DNS for Domain" message in the little yellow box. I don't get any of your other messages there, though.
