Does anyone ever tried to git the / and manage system or other things with it ?

Hi !

Creating a git repo at the root of the filesystem and using it some way.

Nope, I'm quite sure that no-one has ever attempted anything that silly. The repo would be huge, and keeping it in sync with the filesystem would be a lot of work.

Sorry, this was a duplicate post.

I do, however, use puppet at work for infrastructure management, and we keep the puppet masters' /etc/puppet directory in git.

Well it should be easy to add a filelist set to track, like /etc/*, logs, whatever useful to keep.
