i've just started using fluxbox and am quite enjoying it. i'm also a fan of wmdockapps. my problem is this: only certain apps actually get swallowed into the fluxbox slit, my licq dock icon works fine, as does wmWeather, but others like wmcms (a monitor) just lauch as a window. if i use
"wmswallow wmcms"
it creates a space in the slit, but doesn't actually swallow the app. is this just an issue with the apps i'm using, or is there something i can do to get them into the slit?
thanks in advance.
here's a link to a screenshot http://www.geocities.com/bradyl.geo/screenshot.html
ignore the rest of the site, i wrote it when i was learning what this whole "internet" thing was all about. many moons have passed since then.
you can see my problem on the left side of the screen, wmcms hasn't docked, but there's a hole in the slit where it should be docked.
do you mean where did i get the dockapps? i picked them up at http://www.bensinclair.com/dockapp/
as for my problem, i think it was just because of the individual apps. i picked up a different system monitor (wmmon) and a different mail checker (wmmultipop), and they're docking as expected.
vikasreddy: i'm using eterm as a terminal, so you can just launch it with
--tint 0x8080ff as an option to get a blue tinted transparent background like mine. the 8080ff is a hex representation of the RGB of the background colour.
j, thanks for the tip, but -w is an unrecognized option for wmcms. i'm pretty sure it's just that certain apps don't dock to fluxbox.
