.docbook

linux kernel 2.6, GNU, Slackware 12.0
KDE 3.5.7

Hi:
How can I read .docbook files? If I click the name in the desktop, it asks me for an app to open it. Thanks.

.docbook is XML file. It can be converted to html files (or whatever) using xslt. If your interesting in what inside .docbook itself any XML editor (vi and emacs included will do

Thanks for your post. Unfortunately vi, vim and emacs show a lot of things like <para> and </link> which make the text a little unreadable.

I think you'll find something like Conglomerate much more friendly with XMLs than vi/emacs. KXML Editor is less polished but most likely in your distro's repo.

That's the whole point!

They're plain text editors, not word processors!
