I want to make SAMBA server as PDC in my domain... for does it require to configure DNS service as well in linux.... as i think while joining domain windows xp client search for nslookup entry??
What script i should do for making SAMBA as PDC...
I assume you've read the tutorial and Samba by Example on http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/...g500users.html It has step-by-step instructions and is very easy to follow. There's no reason to reinvent the wheel.

There are actually two quick answers for this and it depends on what type Windows domain you will be emulating.
Windows NT Domain: DNS is not required and rarely used. WINS is the NetBIOS-to-IP translator. Samba can emulate a WINS server with restrictions.
Windows Active Directory: DNS is required. AD clients use DNS to find the domain controllers. Currently, I don't believe Samba fully supports being an Active Directory controller. Planned for Samba 4, I believe.
