DNS Name servers?

I used the RH PPP dialer and configured a setting with Phone # of my ISP and then dialed with the RH PPP dialer. Ithen used the RH network dialer and enabled loopback. I then saw that my connection that I had set up was connected in the modem properties or something like that. I was able to ping some IP adresses but could not open a webpage (mozilla says cant open site fro whatever www name I type in the browser adress bar. I typed in an ip adress of a webpage and mozilla went out and tried to open it but was unable to resolve the host or something like that.

Do I have to set my DNS name servers to something ?
What is a DNS name server how do I find out what mine is and what should I do?
I dont remember from my class.

Yeah you gotta configure your DNS. Find out what it is and if it is DHCP or static from your ISP. Red Hat's internet wizard probably has a place to put this info in. Also it is possible you just need to tell mozilla the name server and not red hat...so go through all the options in mozilla and enter it in so it works.

You would add the DNS server IPs to "/etc/resolv.conf".
