Dns?

On my network I have 1 main linux machine running DNS. From other machines web browsers I can type the machine name "." the domain name "." com
i.e. : http://linux1.blah.com
and this will resolve fine and bring up the local website.
but if I type
http://blah.com
or
http://www.blah.com

nothing resolves and no site...

whats my problem?

You need to add entries for them to your zone file. Look into it (location like /var/named/pz/*) and add a line similar to the ones you see. An example:
www CNAME something.blah.com.

that's exactly right... you want to create aliases so that users can resolve the sites. If I type in www.blah.com, where on your net does that put me? It's up to DNS to tell the user (me) and that can only happen if there are canonical names (aliases)
