Distrowatch Offline?

Would anyone know what happened to www.distrowatch.com? All you get in the past week is a blank white screen.

I just clicked your link to distrowatch and the site popped right up so I think the problem lies elsewhere?

What are you using for a browser? I've used Firefox for years and never had a problem with Distrowatch until now.

Janus_Hyperion 05-28-2013 06:10 PM

Are you still have this problem? I am using firefox and no issues here either.

I also tried to access with the Opera browser but also get an error. Never had this trouble before with any browser and Distrowatch. Any ideas?

I just connected flawlessly with Opera 12.15 on Debian Wheezy.

Hello

I check it several times each day and it hasn't been down for me any day this week. Working fine at the moment, too...

yancek 05-28-2013 11:05 PM

I used firefox 14.0.1, Opera 12.01 and Konqueror web browser and no problems connecting with any.

Centos 6.4 + FF 17 = works for me :)

kooru 05-29-2013 01:56 AM

No problem for me with Opera 12.11

I think reporting that it works for us doesn't bring the OP closer to an answer for his problem.
Some thoughts:
- Have you cleared the browser cache?
- Can you wget the website?
- Have you tried to ping the site?
- Is there something different in your network connection, compared to before the issue came up?
- Have you tried it from a live-CD, so that you can see if misconfiguration in your installed OS is causing this?

I am running Linux Mint 13 MATE with all updates. So far, it's the only website that will not come up. Never had this problem before with Comcast cable or residential DSL. I just had AT&T U-verse installed last Friday using the 2WIRE 3800 HGV-B Gateway. I've read on the AT&T forums that these Motorola gateways can cause problems with certain websites not coming up properly or not at all. I've also read that one possible solution is to change DNS settings. Any ideas?

TobiSGD 05-29-2013 08:22 AM

If this is DNS related try to change your DNS server to 8.8.8.8, that is Google's DNS service.

rbeltz48 05-29-2013 11:08 AM

I changed the DNS to Google 8.8.8.8 but the problem remains.

Try this:

Namely the tcp_window_scaling suggestion.
