LinuxQuestions.org - Distro: Less scripting. Looking for mainly Elf binary based distro

Many distros require Python and Perl and this scripting and that scripting interpretter to be installed. Even Bonzai Linux, supposedly a "small distro" installs python and KDE by default

Are there any distros which run mainly Elf programs? Hopefully a distro that runs all binary programs and relies on not one scripting language. I think this would be a key in getting a very small fast linux or a very capable medium sized linux.

I mean there are plenty of applications that a linux distro could use, based on GCC, freePascal, etc. without ever touching an interpretter or the large libraries packages generally required by scripting languages.

Has anyone thought of this yet? The fact that Elf is quite capable and there is no need to install a scripting interpretter on a small fast distro?

I'm finding some of my old Windows 98 computers are faster than small distros I've tried like Bonzai. And I think I know why. It's not because of KDE specifically or Linux specifically. It's just because I'm using a distro that is based on mainly programs run off the interpretter (KDE happens to be one of the problems, but not all of it). Yet, really, Elf is quite capable and there is no need to use so much scripting if I don't want to, is there?

Also since I am using compilers and CGI right now and probably for the next umpteen years..this is also convenient..since I don't neccessarily need or rely on scripting. i.e. the type of programs I am building could match up to the distro I'm looking for. So a distro without scripting wouldn't be a loss right now for me on a box I use to create elf programs. It's not as if I'd be taking out a chunk of something I have to use or rely on (perl, python, etc.).

Now KDE seems to have a lot of programs which rely on Python, as far as I have briefly checked into.

1. So it could be as simple as installing a different Window Manager?
2. Or do you think it's more than just the window manager..

I've heard that ICEwmm, blackbox, wmaker, are faster window managers.. but the question is: do they come more Elf based than scripting based?

For example are there any current distros out there that I could just
3. uninstall all scripting related stuff and install a window manager and programs that were more Elf oriented? or
4.find a distro which was thought out to be elf oriented anyway, and had a window manager with default shell apps that were elf oriented anyway

But hopefully there is a distro already out there with this line of thinking?
