distro for file serving with low hd print

Hello everyone

I am not new to linux, but I am on the search of a distro for setting up a small fileserver. It should offer smb and ftp, and if its possible lamp. It should run on a AMD k-6 233 with 48 mb ram and 3dfx voodoo 3. I don't need a gui or so. Just ssh into the box for some maintance work.

I mean I don't want to use suse oder mdk for such a task. I tried Debian, and I really liked it because of the softraid capacibilites and furthermore with the installer it was quite a easy task to set up soft raid. But unfortunately my apt-get is broke now and the system freezes occasionaly. I don't know why, but It can't be the hardware because in former times (fileserver based on win2k3) It ran for months without one reboot.

Does anyone can suggest a good distro with a low hd print?
