Question Display Problems


Hullo all,
Recently I decided that 1024x768 wasn't enough so i turned up one step and now my monitor can't handle it. SO i can't see any thing once the X-Windowing system starts. I can't even see the login. Wel that is i can't see the GUI i can see the test login i just need to figure out how to turn my settings back down... PLEASE HELP ME...

Does deadrat still come with XConfigurator (or however
it's spelled)? Go to a console, login as root, do a
telinit 3

and then try
locate -i xconfig

If that comes back with empty hands you may want to
try
xf86cfg

If that fails as well, use
xf86config
(warning, striclty command-line :} ... you need to know a
few things about your system).

Thanks for the help but i'm not that great at gettting around in Redhat. Unless ive got a GUI as of right now im lost. so step by step instructions starting wih GRUB loading would be helpful

In this case:

at grubs prompt for the kernel you're usually loading add
single
as a parameter. ...

From there procede with the locate step above :)

Yah i was able to get a bash prompt. only problem when i run XF86Config (case sensitivity stinks...) i recieve an error that 'Permission Denied' and Yes i am logged in as root... [root@BLACKTOWER...]#

Case-sensitivity ownz :} ...

Try xf86cfg and xf86config, then, those are the ones
that come with X (aren't distro specific).
