DiskonModule duplicate

I have used the dd command to duplicate a diskonmodule (power Quest International 32mb) and I get no error

#dd of=/dev/hda1 of=/dev/hdc1

when I mount hdc1 I find all the information in hda1 but when i try to boot I get the messge "missing operating system "

I have used the dd command with hard disks and it works ok
Do I need special parameters when using DiskOnModules with the dd command ?

How can I make the hdc1 bootable without loosing the information in it ?

I have used the dd command with hard disks and it works ok
