When you get to your Login screen. Whether it is GDM,KDM,or Slim. There should be a session button or like in slim press F1 to change sessions. Then pick your Enlightenment Desktop from there. And Log into E17.

Also I think Illume is a edj file in /usr/share/enlightenment/data/themes/illume.edj

You can open your file manager as root and delete that edj.

You can also centerclick somewhere on your desktop, go down to themes, and choose the theme from the list. This will restart enlightenment with your new theme.
Please note: It is wise to close programs down while restarting enlightenment and working with themes, as enlightenment tends to sometimes "lose" programs (they are still running but you can no long see them on your desktop) and/or moves them around to different parts of your desktop when you restart enlightenment.
