Disable Touchpad If Mouse Present

Does anyone know if it is possible to do this?

On vista dell's config utility for my synaptics touchpad has an option to disable if there is a mouse, and its a great feature for me because I'm not really good at using a laptop and constantly bump into the touchpad and messing up where I'm typing.

Any help?

I don't know about disabling the touchpad when a mouse is present, but syndaemon will disable it whilst you type - see here:

Cool, I'll take a look into that.
