Disable KDE on Kurumin Linux

Hi People,

In my long journey on Linux World I try to test this nice distro.

This is Basead on Knoppix that is basead on Debian.

So...

**EDITED**
I need to boot on text mode, WITHOUT load KDE Enviroment.
**EDITED**

Some people tell me that I edit /etc/inittab and change init:5:init with init:3:init.

But... this file in my distro don't have this entry.

Instead, I found this one:

id:5:initdefault:

I've changed this line to id:3:initdefault, and KDE still loads at startup.

How can I disable KDE to load on startup, without (obviously) removing KDE?

Tks a lot!

MarcSant.

I'm using Knoppix right now; there's a hidden file .wmrc in your user's /home directory that seems to specify the default windowmanager.

Other distros use different files. In Slackware, the windowmanager is specified in ~/.xinitrc

I make a mistake on original text: WITHOUT Load KDE.

You know how I do this?

Tks!

As kurumin is a Debian based distro you should check how to do it on Debian, thus finding out how to do it on Kurumin

After some hours searching the Brazilian foruns... I Find how I can disable this:

The procedure in others distros is changing the line init:5:init to init:3:init in inittab.

This doesn't work on Debian.

To don't load KDE, I must edit this file:
/etc/X11/default-display-manager
and put a '#' in front of this line:
/usr/bin/kdm

That's it. Reboot the Debian (or Kurumin) and KDE is no longer loaded.

I found this information on Oficial Kurumin Forum, at:
www.guiadohardware.com.

Anyway, Tks for your help.

MarcSant.
