Device is busy


I work with Red hat 8
I issue the command eject cdrom and I recive the command " device is busy" is there a way to force the unmount ,I cant eject the cdrom In any way.

Execute "fuser </mountpoint/*>" or "lsof +D </mountpoint>" and you'll see which process still has files open. Close these processes and you'll be able to eject.

normally this error is caused by being in the directory at the time or if its autorunned and nautilus is open

Yes, but I have the same problem after Nautilus is closed. And this happens with my CD, Zip100 and floppy. If I logout an then login, then the unmount works beatiful. (Redhat 7.2)

it's a pain. I don't want to have to log in and out every time I want to remove a cd
