/dev/sg0 -> cdrw device

I have, in previous posts, suggested that for kernel v2.6.# you can link files in /dev thus:

mv /dev/sg* /root # as a backup #
ln -s /dev/hda /dev/sg0
ln -s /dev/hdb /dev/sg1
ln -s /dev/hdc /dev/sg2
ln -s /dev/hdd /dev/sg3

This is WRONG! If I try cdrecord -scanbus it warns me of a "Linux Bus mapping botch".

I have gone back to this:

ln -s /dev/hd# /dev/sg0

where # is the device you want to be mapped. Perhaps sg1 could be mapped to a second writer? I only have one cdwriter so I cannot test this theory. Sorry for the duff gen.
