Deleted the /usr/src/kernels Folder ???

I am trying to remotely (SSH) connect to my Fedora box. I just deleted the /usr/src/kernels/xxxxxx folder and thought I shutdown -r. I am now not able to connect to the box. Did I screw up my whole computer by deleting this folder or did I perhaps forget to use the -r command. If I screwed it up, is there anyway to fix it. I currently don't have physical access to the box until tomorrow.

Thanks,
09-Sparky

You probably forgot the -r flag; deleting the kernel source files shouldn't have any affect on your system, unless Fedora is weird. Switch to slackware 8-].

Compiled kernels are usualling in /boot or the / directory. What you deleted is just the source to compile from. You can easily just reinstall the proper RPM's for the kernel (rpm -qa | grep kernel -> to find which packages are installed) or download the kernel source from www.kernel.org

In Fedora, the /usr/src/kernels tree is provided by the kernel-devel rpm, which provides header files against which you can build new kernel-specific drivers and such. Removal of the tree shouldn't have affected your ability to ssh into the box.
