Default user name and password

i am very new to Linux world .and hardly know any commands in it.yesterday the IBM server on which linux with lisp software 2.7 crashed due to power surge. i was successfully able to install Linux with lisp 2.7 software on to IBM machine as it was tailor made.my question is does any one know the default user name and password of Lisp 2.7 software both web based and command based .help me iam unable to log into Lisp 2.7. awaiting for replies

Isn't Lisp a programming language, not a Linux distribution? Exactly where is it asking for a password?

LISP is a programming language. And if you did an installation of Linux, YOU set the names/passwords when you did it. There's no way we can tell you what these are. The only user ID that's common to all Unix/Linux systems is "root", but there's no 'default' password...it's set when the system is built.

You don't say what version/distro of Linux, onto what "IBM Machine", so it's hard to give you any detailed help. If you don't know the root password, you can either boot from the installation media, or boot the system into single-user mode (usually typing S at at the boot-menu), and change it from there with the passwd command.

again.i was installing the Linux on IBM machine.its so unattented one when i pop in the cd and set to boot the system form Cd.the welcome screen came as redhat linux it formatted the drive and installed the i got a screen saying installation complete.with ok button.after pressing ok the system rebooted and i got the page of Lisp software user name and password. and Lisp is a software for bandwidth controlling by it-om technologies.i tried putty to enter into the machine using the public IP.its still asking for the username and password.any one knows the default username and password.

Ok...AGAIN: what VERSION/DISTRO of Linux? You say RedHat...enterprise? Old version? AS? ES? WS? What??? And AGAIN: what KIND of IBM machine??? You're providing no details.

If you're installing this from a Kickstart server, then you need to get the passwords from whoever set up that image. There are NO default passwords set...you set them on install.
