default desktop
Hi all
Just a quick one
when logged in as root startx takes me into KDE 3 (as I want)
when I log in as my user account I get booted into Window maker (want kde)
Surely this shouldnt happen as I thought if you set default to one desktop then all users default to same???
Where would I have to add the startkde lines for my normal user please. Im using Slack 8.1

See if there's a .xinitrc file in the "normal" user's /home directory. If there is, check what it is starting.

well I sorted out that windows maker stuff, the generated .Xinitrc had been setup for windowsmaker (strange) so just changed the wmaker.inst stuff to startkde.
Neo that does look pretty handy I shall download that when I get home from work. I suppose that I'd have to run that script rather than startx though, or does it get run when startx is called???
