Debian Based Distros

Would anyone be able to list at least the top 5 debian based distros where I can set up a cable modem internet connection?

reddazz 09-17-2005 01:42 PM

Debian itself works fine with my cable modem, so I would assume that any distro using the same technology would be able to do so without any problems.

Uh Debian. All I did was plug my ethernet cable in and I was connected to the internet.

You might want to try Xandros, Ubuntu, MEPIS, Kanotix, Knoppix.

Cable modems are easier than any other connection imho with any distro.

i also suggest that you go for debian itself

Debian, Mepis, Ubuntu, Xandros, Linspire.

gentoo probably has a bit of debian influence if that counts :D

In my thread on distrowatch (http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=355215) I link to a short `review' of a handful of debian-based distros (http://www.psychocats.net/essays/whichdistro.php). It might be helpful in deciding which distro you want--though it doesn't say anything directly about cable modems.
