Debian aptitude wanting to remove gnome with gnome-games

Hey, I just threw a fresh install of Lenny on my lappy (<3 Debian) and when I try to remove gnome-games via synaptic, it wants to remove the package gnome. This also happens when I want to remove Transmission, Ekiga or Epiphany and some other packages. Anyone know how to resolve this?

I think gnome is just a metapackage and can be removed without any problems. Since gnome contains gnome-games, you can no longer have "gnome" installed. Instead you should just be left with all the pieces of gnome minus gnome-games.

But to be sure, just look at all the files it wants to remove and if you see it removing things like gnome-desktop-environment then you probably don't want to do it.

Thank you, I wasn't sure if it was a package that was entirely necessary or not. I also noticed that a few packages needed me to remove gnome-desktop-environment - I went ahead anyway and nothings gone boom yet. =D
