dd+iso9660 how to

linux:/home/student # mount /root/cd.iso /home/student/cd -o loop
mount: you must specify the filesystem type

linux:/home/student # mount /root/cd.iso /home/student/cd -o loop -t iso9660
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop0,
or too many mounted file systems
(could this be the IDE device where you in fact use
ide-scsi so that sr0 or sda or so is needed?)
linux:/home/student #

How to instrust the dd to output a iso9660 image?
or what this means and how to use it?

To make an ISO from your CD/DVD, place the media in your drive but do not mount it. If it automounts, unmount it.

dd if=/dev/dvd of=dvd.iso # for dvd
dd if=/dev/cdrom of=cd.iso # for cdrom
