dd command question
 

Hi guys,

I am using Xen and at the progress of making virtual disk(*.img) file i managed to create a dd with size of 30GB , but if you actually du -h file.img . it is only about 2GB.

However, when i tried to gzip it and rsync over to another machine. The size become the actual 30GB. I get to know this from du -h file.img.

Do anyone have an idea of dd command ?

I am not clear what you are doing------eg: What do you mean by "create a dd"?

Are you actually using the dd command? If so, tell us the exact syntax you are using.
