DBase 3 + embedded OS

I have a file "myfile.fwu" containing an embedded BSD system for a printer (NetBSD propably). I need to hack that file, change some startup scripts and the put everything back together. The 'file' command tells me that it is in DBase 3 format. Note that i'm using Linux not BSD. What can I do?
