Upon booting the lpd daemon says it started but when I run lpc status from the command line it says their is no daemon present. I'm trying to hook up a network printer, or rather allow my friends to print off of my Local printer. We tried changing the hosts.allow file and even created a hosts.lpd file but still no luck. My friends computer will que properly but can't make any connection. Please help, thanks.

One thing else, make sure both of you have entries in your /etc/hosts files for each other.
