cygwin and remote KDE desktop
I am trying to access a linux GUI from a windows machine.
So I installed cygwin with X11.
I followed the tutorial given at
monkeynoodle.org/comp/remote-x-cygwin-howto
and edited the files via putty
I have double checked xdm-config, Xaccess, and kdmrc. to make sure I have done everything correctly.
However when I go and run startxdmcp.bat the X server starts but it does not show the KDE log in screen just the black/white checkered x screen with the mouse cursor as an "X"
both machiens are connected to the same router (within the same network) However the windows machine is connected to the router wirelessly and the linux machine connects via a networking cord. I am not sure if that would have an effect or not.
I am using Fedora Core 2.
