CUPS Print Server: Can't print from Windows

I have a Raspberry Pi running Raspbian Jessie. I have CUPS and GutenPrint installed connected to a DNP RX-1HS printer. SMB in installed as well.

I followed the guide here.

From the CUPS UI, I can print a test page successfully.

When I send a job (any job, I have tried several different images, including the test page from Windows) I get the message below

canceled at
Sat Oct 6 04:27:28 2018
"Unrecognized header data format @0!"

Anybody have any idea?

I tried the factory DNP driver for the RX-1HS (which is my printer) and also the DS40 with the same result.

Dye sublimation image printers don't use standard print protocols so I don't know how well you can export them over samba. You might have better luck copying the image file via samba to local storage on the rpi and have a script that picks it up and prints it using gutenprint.

I suggest setting up a second print queue using the "Raw" make at step 6 of your guide. A print job can be prepared on your Windows machine(s) using a locally installed Windows printer driver and sent to the raw queue so that CUPS will pass the print job unchanged.

You will need to have Samba running on the CUPS print server so that the raw print queue is available to the Windows machine(s).
