Ctrl + click only selects one icon in Konqueror
I'm using Kubuntu 7.10 and I've never been able to use ctrl + left click to select multiple items. I use ctrl click to select my first item then use ctrl click to select a second item and as soon as I click the second item the first one becomes unselected. I am 100 % certain that I am not releasing the ctrl key by accident. Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing (I certainly can't find anything in the Konqueror settings that relates to this). Any and all help is appreciated.

Try using the shift key when selecting the second item and so on.

OH!
I see what you're after, Ctrl + Alt does that for me in Debian with KDE and Ubuntu.

No unfortunately for me ctrl alt does not work either... wondering if there is some obscure setting for the keyboard or mouse that is causing this behavior... I just wish I could get it working. I'll have to keep searching.

A little strange and I happened to only figure this out by accident: the ctrl click thing works when konqueror is in icon view but not in text or list view. I wonder what is going on with that. Is that by design?

Must be something quirky with your installation. It works in all view modes in all three systems here. Don't know why I never tried using just Ctrl, but did so today and it works.

OMG: Solved and it was a PEBKAC
I managed to solve this one by accident and it turns out to be just another PEBKAC (Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair). When I originally tried to select multiple icons and failed I wasn't clicking directly on the icon itself but in the row of the icon. In list view icons can be selected by clicking the row or the icon itself. But using the row method doesn't work with ctrl + click. Solution: click on the icon itself.
I can't believe it was me the whole time.
