Ctrl+Alt+Anything

Just bought a new keyboard (Genius KB-G265) and am having issues using Ctrl+Alt+Anything.

As an example I used Ctrl+Alt+V for clipit history but its no longer working with this keyboard. Instead the shortcut is working with Ctrl+AltGr+V which requires 2 hands to use (inpractical)

Alt:

KeyPress event, serial 36, synthetic NO, window 0x3000001, root 0x29d, subw 0x0, time 1424843, (20,-30), root826,274), state 0x10, keycode 64 (keysym 0xffe9, Alt_L), same_screen YES, XLookupString gives 0 bytes: XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes: XFilterEvent returns: False

AltGr:

KeyPress event, serial 36, synthetic NO, window 0x3000001, root 0x29d, subw 0x0, time 1426359, (20,-30), root826,274), state 0x10, keycode 108 (keysym 0xffea, Alt_R), same_screen YES, XLookupString gives 0 bytes: XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes: XFilterEvent returns: False

I've tried:

xmodmap -e 'clear mod5'

xmodmap -e "keycode 64 = Alt_R"

And I get: Alt:

KeyPress event, serial 36, synthetic NO, window 0x3000001, root 0x29d, subw 0x0, time 1793817, (612,262), root613,367), state 0x10, keycode 64 (keysym 0xffea, Alt_R), same_screen YES, XLookupString gives 0 bytes: XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes: XFilterEvent returns: False

AltGr:

KeyPress event, serial 36, synthetic NO, window 0x3000001, root 0x29d, subw 0x0, time 1795027, (612,262), root613,367), state 0x10, keycode 108 (keysym 0xffea, Alt_R), same_screen YES, XKeysymToKeycode returns keycode: 64 XLookupString gives 0 bytes: XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes: XFilterEvent returns: False

But Ctrl+Alt+V is still not working, but Ctrl+AltGr+V is working even though they seem to be bound to the same function.

Im using ubuntu 14.04 + gnome, and Alt+F4 (for example) works just fine, Ctrl+Alt+T does not (new terminal)

Any advice?
