Cross Compile Kernel.


Can the linux kernel be cross compiled?. Like on a different OS and or platform.

Yes,

But you'll need a whole GNU toolchain compiled specifically for that.
As in, your compiler has to be able to output code for that platform, which means in my expirince a non-trivial amount of work to set gcc up.

There is a cross-gcc or something of the sort, but I can't remember where. It automatically builds a toolchain for most tragets for you.
