Crontab : How to add a TAB to the current running SCREEN?

Hi,

Usually I use screen, certainly like for most of you guys, to code. However my crontab has few commands (users) that are ran daily by : screen -d -m command

However the problem is that it gives me another session of screen.

$ screen ls would give

Code:
There are screens on:
        1547..loneniz35 (08/24/2011 12:00:01 AM) (Detached)
        2373.pts-1.loneniz35 (08/23/2011 09:18:17 PM) (Attached)
how to add my command/script/app to another tab of my current running screen session?

Thanks a lot

Greetings,

Have you tried to give your screen session a name and then have the cronjob attach to that session?

From the screen documentation

Perhaps the most useful feature of screen is the way it allows the user to move a session between terminals, by detaching and reattaching. This also makes life easier for modem users who have to deal with unexpected loss of carrier.

Detach: Disconnect screen from your terminal.
Power Detach: Detach and log out.
Lock: Lock your terminal temporarily.
Multiuser Session: Changing number of allowed users.
Session Name: Rename your session for later reattachment.
Suspend: Suspend your session...
From what I see there, I think you might need to name your session and then make your session a multiuser session and have cron be the other authorized user.

Just a thought. HTH.
